Fantails Room head Kaiako - Michelle
Kia Ora whanau, my name is Michelle Brougham and I am so excited to be a part of the urban explorers whanau in the Fantails room. I am of Maori and European descent and was born and raised in Otara, South Auckland. My family and I have recently moved to Pokeno and we are loving it so far. I have been teaching for 7 years now and hold a bachelor of teaching (ECE- Pasifika). I find children such a joy and they are what wakes me up in the morning. I believe that teaching is an act of the heart. It is important that children are provided with a unique and special place to grow. I truly believe that children deserve quality care and education which is founded through the concepts of love and respect. It is my hope that I can provide a space where children can be the best version of themselves.

Centre Chef - Rowan
Hello, my name is Rowan and I am the Centre Chef for Urban Explorers. I have come from a large centre in Auckland central and it’s great to be in a smaller rural setting.
I live on a lifestyle block with my partner and 2 dogs. My two adult children both live overseas. I love catching up with family & friends and pottering on the land, and doing crosswords in my downtime.
I am passionate about ECE and the early years of our children and have been working in the sector for many years, knowing their tummies are full feeds the brain.
Please come and introduce yourselves & let me know if I can help in any way.
