Fees & payment of fees
An enrolment fee of $30.00 is payable at the time of enrolment. This is a one off fee and is non refundable.
Fees are to be paid a week in advance by direct debit.
Fees must be paid for every day that your child is enrolled, including any day your child is absent.
Late payment of childcare fees
This may incur a 10% penalty on your account and failure to pay fees may result in a cancellation of your enrolment. If account balances remain unpaid, then all costs of debt collection will be payable by you.
20 Hours ECE
The centre is a provider of 20 hours ECE for 3-5 year old children. A child is eligible for this on their third birthday. 20 hours is available for up to six hours per day. As Urban Explorers is open for 10 hours per day, fees will be charged for the hours not covered by the provision of 20 hour ECE.
Work & income
If you have a WINZ subsidy you are still responsible to ensure that your account is paid in advance at all times and any part which is not covered by the subsidy. It is your responsibility to let Work and Income know of any changes to circumstances or your child’s attendance. It is your responsibility to inform Work and Income of any benefits you have through the 20 hours ECE scheme.
Collection of children
The centre is licensed by The Ministry of Education from 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday and must close strictly at this time. Please contact us if unforeseen circumstances make it impossible for you to pick up your child on time.
Please note children may only leave the centre with adults listed on the enrolment form. There is a 15 minute grace period for outside of booked hours (to allow for traffic situations). You will then be charged $5 for every 5 minutes that you are late after that.
Out-of-Hours Pick up or Drop-off Fees
If the drop off or pickup is outside of licensed hours there will be a one-off fee of $10.00 followed by further charge of $10.00 for every subsequent 5 minutes. This requires 2 teachers to remain behind and puts us in breach of both the Ministry of Education regulations and the terms of our Operating License. Please ensure you ring us immediately once you know you may be late.
Holidays & absenses
Children are entitled to take three (3) weeks holiday per calendar year (January-December). We require in writing, a minimum of two weeks’ notice for the fees to be discounted by 50%. This is to enable us to keep the enrolment open for your child. For children enrolled less than a full week, the days and discount will be applied on a pro-rata basis. E.g: If a child is enrolled for 3 days per week, they will receive 3 of their weeks (9 days) at the discounted rate in a calendar year.
Traditionally, children take this time over the Christmas/New Year period. Due to Ministry of Education regulations, we are unable to accommodate an absence of more than three (3) weeks at one time as after this period, the Ministry of Education will stop your child’s funding. Your account must be up to date to be eligible for the holiday discount.
Changes and notice Periods
We require two weeks notice in writing if you wish to terminate or change a permanent booking. Change of booking forms are available from our centre administrator or via the resource hub page. Please inform Work and Income of any changes made.
